Film By Kathrine Krake & Addy Elisabeth Ipsen
Clips from the 2004 Kilung Great Prayer Festival, a 12-year-cycle anniversary celebrating the birth of Guru Rinpoche, who brought Buddhism to Tibet twelve centuries ago. The festivities included consecrating the new Kilung monastic college and the enthronement of H.E. Kilung Jigme Rinpoche. Offerings were made by Kilung tribespeople, visiting lamas, monastics, and travelers from afar. Kilung Monastery reciprocated, gifting in potlatch-style, back to many of the participants. - Young Dancers
