Groundbreaking Ceremony for Kilung Shedra and Community Center
The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Kilung Shedra and Community Center will be on June 17th, the day of the Buddha’s First Turning of the Wheel of the Dharma.
There will be ceremonies and prayers to start the construction and to commemorate the day. Many high lamas from across the Dzachuka region will be invited to the festivities and will attend the groundbreaking.

Yogurt project a big success!
This video shares the successful story of the yogurt project!
The Dzachuka Nomad Yogurt Collective, launched by the Kilung Foundation with the support of generous donors, is thriving!
Now in its second year, the yogurt is very popular and the business has been awarded a RMB 500,000 grant by the local Chinese government ($80,000).
This will enable the collective to increase the herd size of the females yaks, called ‘dri’, that are milked for the yogurt.
Currently the yogurt is being made “home style”.

Thousand Buddha’s Empowerment in Dzachuka
In March, 2015, Kilung Jigme Rinpoche gave a Thousand Buddha’s empowerment, teaching and public talks to the Kilung community and neighbors, near the Mura Mani Wall. Many hundreds of people came for these events. The subject of the public talks was about how to sustain the culture, and how to continuously integrate Buddhism and modern life at this critical moment. It was one of the biggest gatherings in a year.

Li Mingyang photo exhibition April 4 – 26 at Brackenwood Gallery
Brackenwood Gallery is honored to present photographs of Tibet from artist Li Mingyang from April 4 – 26.
There will be a reception Saturday, April 4
from 5 – 7 PM during Langley’s “First Saturday” Artwalk.
Since 2005 Mingyang has taken pictures of different manifestations of Buddhist life and practices in Eastern Tibet. Color images of the high grasslands, vast expanses of sky and green rolling mountains capture the astounding beauty of eastern Tibet. Mingyang’s black and white photos of smiling children and indigenous people surviving on the edge of this challenging environment remind us that there are still places that remain somewhat untouched by modern forces.
