The Kilung Youth Programs will be headquartered on the ground floor of the Kilung Shedra, and will provide traditional education in Tibetan language and crafts for both boys and girls.
The Community Center and Health Clinic are located on the ground floor of the Kilung Shedra. Here, members of the community can gather in the spacious community hall or meet in smaller rooms to discuss projects and issues of importance to everyone. In addition, the spaces will be used to hold community education workshops and trainings, as well as to provide opportunities for teaching and developing traditional Tibetan crafts and artisan skills.
The Health Clinic will provide public health and hygiene education, regular immunizations for diseases like hepatitis B and tuberculosis, and routine check-ups. In addition, the clinic will screen for Hydatid disease, a parasitic infection common in the rural environs of Dzachuka. The community center and clinic are dedicated to a beloved local monk, Gonpo Tsering, who died of the disease.
