Prayer Flags at Kilung Monastery

 

Prayers of compassion, printing upon air, riding the wind, benefitting all beings everywhere.

An offering of flags printed with prayers can be made for any number of reasons: Commemoration, celebration, memorial, honoring, healing, or to remove obstacles.

Flag 12-15 feet tall on large, substantial, permanent flagpole with cement base. Pole rotates in base for flag replacement. Colorful traditional canopy at top of pole. Price includes flags replaced each year for three years. Donor’s name and/or person for whom flag is dedicated may be inscribed into cement base.

Choice of location: In front of Kilung Monastery’s main temple. In front of the Kilung Shedra temple. Next to Mura Mani Wall in the Dzachu River Valley. In front of the nunnery high up on the mountain above the monastery.

A frame of vertical wooden poles with horizontal cables supporting a series of six-foot-high prayer flags, one for each year of life of the person for whom flags are dedicated.
Location: Up the mountain behind Kilung Monastery, or next to Kilung Nunnery.

2. Prayer flags, 6-feet-high, one for each year of life $8 per flag + $108 for frame. Example: for a 50-year-old person this calculates to $508.
3. Regular 6-foot vertical flags on wooden poles $35 each. For 5 or more flags, $30 each.
